Grimsby-Cleethorpes Transport 1957-1993
The Grimsby-Cleethorpes Transport story has finally been told.
From its tentative beginning as an amalgamation of Grimsby and Cleethorpes Corporation Transports, GCT went on to become a well-run and profitable business - so much so that during the early-1990s it was regularly receiving unsolicited take-over requests.
The path to success was not smooth at all, and this 176-page A4 glossy book containing 135 colour images and a number of black & white photos, charts the highs and lows that the Grimsby-Cleethorpes Joint Transport Committee faced from the establishment of the business on 1 January 1957 to the sale to Stagecoach Holdings on 19 November 1993
Significant appendices include details of every livery and virtually every repaint date for the fleet, full details of every bus route and its start/end date, and fleet lists showing every motorbus, trolleybus, demonstrator/loan and ancillary vehicle.
Foreword by GCT Managing Director, Les Warneford
(Later MD of Stagecoach UK Bus)
